ABSTRACT
The influx of economic immigrants and refugees to the European Union countries is an open topic that is constantly researched and discussed. The refugee issue is the cause of one of the biggest crises in the EU. The European Union has to deal with the different positions of the Member States regarding the reception of refugees and economic immigrants. The immigration crisis among the Member States is dividing the European Union. Former and richer colonial countries are in favor of accepting refugees due to their demographic decline and other reasons, and in less developed countries there is a fear of a foreign, different culture and concerns about problems related to cultural security and its identification. Immigration to Europe is not the first ever in this decade. Immigration is a state that has existed to a greater and lesser extent in the past and will continue to exist in the future. We can only prevent the uncontrolled influx of refugees by introducing new systemic solutions, improving the current system or creating a new, more airtight one with a wider range of powers and actions against terrorism and illegal border crossing of the EU.
