ABSTRACT
One of the biggest problems of our civilization affecting the individual sense of security is the phenomenon of murder. This article is a philosophical as well as a scientific characterization of the homicide. It is understood by the author as a behavior that is a breach in the rules for the safety of society. The analysis thus undertaken includes both psychological and sociological findings that are imposed on the leading ethical issues relating to the problem of homicidal harassment. In this sense, murder is presented as a form of mental deviation as well as a specific social deviation. Both deviant forms are strongly anchored in culture and, as the analysis shows, they are rooted in human nature.
