ABSTRACT
The function of the welfare state is to minimize the risks associated with the threats of the modern world. However, the globalization of threats and the increasing complexity of the internal and external environment of modern states make their welfare functions impossible to fulfill. The article contains an analysis of the results of public opinion surveys on the sense of security of Poles in various spheres of functioning: economic (labor market), health (assessment of health care institutions), assessment of terrorist, military, environmental threats, etc.
