The aim of the article is to present the situation related to regional security in the Persian Gulf region. This problem concerns not only the mutual relations of regional powers, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran, but also small in terms of area and population, but very wealthy oil countries - Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. The wealthy US-backed Arab monarchies fear Shi'ite Iran's expansion in the region. This "export of the revolution" could threaten the stabilization of the small Gulf states. The Persian Gulf countries are concerned about the Iranian armaments program and its desire to possess nuclear weapons. These actions and the events in Iraq and Syria spark an arms race in the region. The threat of conflict in the Persian Gulf makes the area still a center of attention for international armaments companies and world powers that want to strengthen their influence by selling weapons and military equipment to interested countries.
