The aim of the article is to indicate the evolution of local government electoral law in Poland. Elections are crucial to maintaining free and fair societies in countries around the world. Therefore, the security of elections and ensuring the fairness, resilience and security of the processes involved is of paramount importance to maintaining public trust in the democratic function. Election security protects all elements of election infrastructure – including election officials, voting equipment and technology, and the community. Prevents potential election cybersecurity problems and helps mitigate threats to election security. When examining historical sources in this article, the method of reading source information was used, which is included in the stage of source criticism and establishing facts. Direct and indirect methods were also used to establish facts based on source information. In this conclusion, a certain law was used, constituting a summary of historians, which states that if the source is authentic and the information is reliable, then the facts about which this information actually existed. Securing electoral infrastructure is crucial to maintaining public confidence in the electoral process and system. The period from Poland regaining independence in 1918 until the adoption of the Electoral Code in 2011, as amended, is analyzed in detail. Constitutional and statutory regulations regarding the basic principles of electoral law and methods of determining election results were presented. After many attempts to initiate legislative work, the adoption of the Electoral Code, which includes electoral regulations for all types of elections in one act, turned out to be a huge success. When presenting the evolution of local government law, it is worth mentioning the proposals for changes to electoral legislation, which were included in the documents of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union (NSZZ) "Solidarity". Held in two rounds (September 5-10 and September 26-October 7, 1981). This article, in the author's opinion, may constitute a contribution to discussion and further research on this issue.
