ABSTRACT
The adaptation of the state security system to new forms and means of threats, caused by terrorism and the possibilities of hybrid operations by hostile entities, influences the evolution of the security strategy, which the author states in relation to the US security strategy, paying attention to the transformation of the country's security institutions and, in particular, to the structure of psychological operations. The article analyzes the latest security strategy of the United States from 2015. The most important categories of psychological operations and related practical activities are described, as well as their location in the new organizational framework. As confirmed by the author, the psychological actions of both military and other state security forces have become a permanent element of the US's fight against threats to its security in the changing sphere of global relations.
