The research objective of the article is to identify the links between migration and terrorism. This is an issue related to the field of international security sciences. The main concepts, the migration situation in the European union were described, the way terrorists operate, including the sources of terrorist financing and methods of counter-terrorism were presented. Examples of terrorist attacks in which the perpetrator was a foreigner were analysed. The migration situation in France was described and the number of attacks that have been carried out in the country was presented. The author cited two methods of using migration to gain access to a country targeted by a terrorist attack. The thesis will verify the hypothesis the migration and terrorism are linked and that greater population movements cause an increase in the number of terrorist attacks. The article indicates how terrorist attacks can be countered. It stresses that an extremely important part of the state's fight against terrorism is to instil awareness of the threat and the need to alert authorities to the potential danger in the international community. At a time when the Internet rules the world and social media is the main communicator, it should be used to gather information about terrorists. Two research methods were used: systemic and historical.. the use of the systemic method was decided by the fact that the article presents an analysis of terrors activity, understood as a related set of elements. The use of the historical method was necessary due to the fact of presenting examples of terrorist attacks in France over the last dozen years. Cause and effect relationships can also be indicated in the work. The timeframe of the work covers the period from 2001 to the present day. The analysis of the issue refers to the area of European Union member states. The article fills a research gap in the field of terrorism and migration studies. The literature lacks publications describing the interdependence that exists between terrorism and migration.
